In 2021, N4D supported Building Foundation for Development (BFD) to develop their multisectoral nutrition strategy and capacities to contribute to more sustainable solutions to malnutriton. BFD is one of the largest national NGOs in Yemen, the largest in the nutrition sector and has a leadership role for other NGOs working in nutrition.

The work with BFD led to a request (in August 2022) from the SUN Yemen Secretariat (SYS) based in the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation (MOPIC), to support the implementation of the existing Yemen Multisectoral Nutrition Action Plan (MSNAP) 2020-2023. At the time, many international actors did not know of the existence of Yemen’s first MSNAP that covered all the country, or of the coordinating role of the SYS within MOPIC.
